One of those mythical wines you dream, rare as hell, and as expensive as hell. Cherished in any cellar, this is one of those white wines that blows your mind, and the 2012 was stellar. The taste incredible, stunned by a creamy dense rich chardonnay, long lasting perfume, perfectly balanced. It tastes like no other high-end Chardonnay on planet earth. I have been drinking it for almost 30 years, and each time I am impressed.
The Coche Corton hard to find, and easy to drink, the first time I tasted it was in Beaune with Robert Vifian and my wife in the 1990’s. I did visit Coche in his cellars, a typical Burgundian cellar the wines spoke for themselves.
The Corton mythical 30 years ago and today it remains a collectable up there with DRC Montrachet and will continue to rise on price. If a wine experience is 100 points this is as close as it gets, but be careful it is always tough to duplicate.
