Peyre Rose 2011

There are wines and there is Peyre Rose a spectacular red wine with the gusto you expect from Belle Léone. This wine rocks hard, every region has its stars and Languedoc’s Domaine Peyre Rose is top.

Former real estate agent Marlene Soria stumbled across this beautiful property back in the late 1980s when she was showing it to a client – rather than sell it to them, she bought it herself. This reminds me of Jean Philips the former owner of Screaming Eagle, a good friend and a great genius.

Marlene vilified her first vintage in 1991 vintage and produces two spectacular Syrah based wines – Clos des Cistes with 15% Grenache and Clos Leone with 15% Mourverdre.

Lauded all over the world by critics, sommeliers and collectors alike it is a winters dream.
