Comparing Schrader RBS and Screaming Eagle: A Tasting Review

Last night we tasted 15 wines blind and paired were the Schrader RBS 2011 a highly coveted, ultra-premium Napa Valley red wine made by Schrader Cellars. Crafted using grapes from the historic Beckstoffer Kalon Vineyard it was excellent and it had a lot of length considering its age. Infinitely better than 2012 Screaming Eagle. It’s extraordinary fruit which you would expect from California was profound, dense yet balanced in a California way, whereas the Screaming Eagle was more muted less interesting and obviously something you would expect more from.
