Travelling through Japan is always fun, especially with friends, and I recently had the chance to do some side-by-side Burgundy tastings from the 2020 vintage.

I always pay attention to the vintage reports because they make things interesting, but at the end of the day, it really comes down to the quality of the producer and the decisions made throughout the growing season and harvest. It’s never as straightforward as simply looking at a vintage chart. I had my doubts about drinking these wines so young, but the two bottles were absolutely fabulous.
