First of all, are there feminine and masculine food preparations, lets discuss that later. There is the idea of good design and bad design, and bad taste and good taste. But while thinking about it, there are foods that get styled and morphed into dishes that seem senseless.
This I call “equestrian styled cuisine”, a style I am unsure of, a term I coined and food I least enjoy. There is a fine line, so you must decide what works best. While the setting is superb, the food be too complex and even over thinking, over design and a degree of exaggeration. This we see too many times in our travels.
In my future kitchen my cuisine will be subtle, extracted with color and flavor but not equestrian styled. After all, farmers eat the best and we know this from history and the development of foods given they grow them, it makes perfect sense.
