Gevry Bel-Air 2005

The wine maker I first met 10+ years ago in Burgundy when he worked for Henri Roch. Philippe is small and compact and bio-minded. Since he left the throes of Henri, he has made his own success. While at the helm of a co-owner of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, he learned a few details there.

This wine is unusual, light and fragrant of fraise des bois. There are spicy aromas and flavors barrel smoke. It finishes with nice tannins, lingering fruit and impressive persistence that doesn’t change very much. I hope to try it again.
