Walking in the Florence airport, I see a passenger checking beside us. He is carrying a few bottles Testamatta. I ask him, “are you Bibi” and he responds, yes”. We flew together to Zurich so we sat and chatted. It was a nice opportunity to meet him and share some time talking about his life and wines. His Azienda Testamatta’s winery is under his control as winemaker and owner. The 2000 vintage was his first vintage and the wine was perfect, in-tact, a good and elegant palate with nice consistent fruit that went well with our dinner. Bravo Bibi, it goes to show that you had it right from the very beginning.
