Between Beaune and Volnay are the vineyards of Pommard extending out on either side of a valley. There are two types of terroir, the ridge hill on the Beaune side to the north, and from those from the sloping towards Volnay to the south. This is the side on which Les Vaumuriens vineyards are located, a combination of limestone clay.
