Turkish “Acili ezme,” or “crush” is a spicy red pepper and tomato salsa made with onions and parsley. Termed ‘ezeme salatası’ (ez-may sah-lah-tah-suh) is meant be spicy, as are many other dishes that come from the southeastern regions of Turkey. Served as an appetizer, or meze along with hot bread puffs called “pide” (pee-day).
