I haven’t tasted the 96 white Burgundies for a while, so I was surprised. The label had some dark sweat spots, a fungus from over humidity. The discolouration lead me to believe storage had been compromised. This wine has seen its best days, it was slightly oxidized, the fruit was still hanging in, after some time it warmed up and was enjoyable. The colour was medium yellow, I thought it improved in the glass, yet it was not Montrachet standards.
