Characteristics Viña Sastre Pesus

Viña Sastre Pesus is a red wine aged in wood produced by the Hermanos Sastre with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Merlot varieties in the DO Ribera del Duero (Castilla y León).

Viña Sastre is one of the reference wineries of the DO Ribera de Duero . Founded in 1992 in the town of La Horra (Burgos) when Rafael Sastre decided to stop selling the grapes grown by the family to make their own wines. The result is small productions made with great care that perfectly reflect the expression of a landscape.

Viña Sastre Pesus comes from a selection of grapes from its best vineyards. Vines located 814 meters above sea level, on clayey-calcareous soil and with a minimum age of 80 years. A traditional cultivation is practiced without the addition of mineral fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides and the harvest is manual at the optimum moment of maturation. 

Viña Sastre Pesus is vinified separately with native yeasts and with temperature control. Then it is stabilized naturally, taking the deposits outside and finally it is aged for a minimum of 22 months in new French oak barrels.
